I was getting a lot of messages regarding this program, so I am sharing all about it in this blog. I will keep it short and informative.

What is AWS Community Builder Program?

The AWS Community Builders program offers technical resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities to AWS enthusiasts and emerging thought leaders who are passionate about sharing knowledge and connecting with the technical community.

How to apply?

You can go to the official website, where you can get the appropriate details. Applications are closed by now, but you can surely add your name to the waiting list, so that, you will get an email when the application reopens.

The application consists of basic questions, for example, why do you want to apply? What have you done till now in order to serve people with the knowledge of cloud computing? You have to attach your blogs, video tutorials, etc links for the proof.

You should have a piece of foundational knowledge in Cloud computing and you MUST be enthusiastic enough to learn and spread this interesting knowledge among others.

PERKS

  • 500 USD credits in your AWS account.
  • A free voucher for any AWS certification.
  • Swags kit which consists of a cap, bottle, stickers, etc
  • Mentorship and guidance
  • Monthly sessions to guide individuals about new services or the older ones.
  • Opportunity to build connections with like-minded individuals.

My Experience:

I was previously unaware of this program. I saw a tweet on Twitter one day and decided to apply for it. I’ve been working with Cloud Computing for around 6–7 months. At the time, I was studying for the Cloud Practitioner exam. So, to share my knowledge, I used to publish articles on Medium or Dev, which I believe helped me a lot in getting accepted into this programme.

After being chosen, I was invited to the Slack channel, where we, the builders, receive notifications for any current events, and we were given an onboarding meeting where we were given an overview of the community. This curriculum has greatly aided me in forming positive relationships.

One more thing I would like to appreciate the work of Jasondun, he is our community builder program manager and nobody can do this job better than him. He replies to every query, dms. There are thousands of people in this community and he manages them really well.

That’s all about the program.

If you find this blog helpful, give it a thumbs up.
